US Customs Update

What is changing?

The US Government is eliminating the duty-free de minimis import treatment on the 29th of August 2025.

De minimis allows (or allowed) shipments valued below $800 to enter the USA exempt from customs charges.

What does this mean for GasGrab® orders?

GasGrab® is manufactured in, and exported from, the UK. This means that from the 29th of August, all GasGrab® shipments to the USA - of any value - will be subject to duties, tariffs and processing fees.

Lower value orders will also come under greater scrutiny and undergo more complex customs procedures than they would have done previously.

What do I need to do?

You won't need to do anything. Any applicable tariffs and duties on GasGrab® orders going to the USA will be added and collected at our checkout.

In order to streamline the process for our American customers as much as possible, we will ship your order on Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) terms. This means we will pass the tariff and duty fees that you pay us onto the US Customs authorities on your behalf, via our shipping partners.

Having us pay the fees before the shipment's entry to the US also minimises the risk of potential customs delays.

How much will the tariffs cost?

The current tariff rate on imports from the UK is 15%.

This is made up of the 5% Most Favoured Nation (MFN) tariff and the 10% Reciprocal Tariff, introduced by the US Government earlier in 2025.

Imports will all also be subject to clearance processing fees which will vary depending on the order value.

Orders valued under $2,500 will undergo informal entry and will be subject to a flat fee of $2.62.

Orders valued over $2,500 will undergo formal entry. The fees will be 0.3464% of the order value, however no less than $32.71 and no more than $634.62.
